MANILA, Philippines — Three cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy were dismissed yesterday in connection with their involvement in an oral sex scandal that rocked the PNPA in October.

A second-class cadet and two third-class cadets were found guilty of grave delinquency, conduct unbecoming of an officer and acts inimical or prejudicial to good order or discipline.

One of the cadets allegedly forced two freshmen to perform oral sex on each other as punishment while the two other cadets watched in the PNPA campus in Silang, Cavite on Oct. 6.

PNPA director Chief Superintendent Chiquit Malayo said the cadets can still submit their motion for reconsideration within 48 hours.

PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde earlier said that they will show the cadets “no mercy” if they are found guilty of the allegations.

Albayalde visited the PNPA last month to hold a dialogue with the cadets following the controversy. He stressed the importance of instilling discipline in the cadets as they will be the police force’s next leaders when they graduate.

Malayo’s predecessor, Chief Superintendent Joseph Adnol, was relieved from his post as PNPA director over command responsibility and to pave the way for an impartial investigation on the scandal.
