1 dead, 2 hurt in stabbings

MANILA, Philippines — A man was killed while two others were wounded in separate stabbing incidents in northern Metro Manila since Sunday night.

Emmanuel Tresballes, 31, died on the way to a hospital after he was stabbed by the 17-year-old nephew of suspect Ronnie Surio after the latter dared the victim to a fistfight in Barangay 165, Caloocan Sunday night. 

In Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela, Gilbert Gatchalian, 55, was stabbed by suspect Reynaldo Sansan after the latter supposedly got irked at his drinking buddies who were speaking in English, police said.

In Barangay Catmon, Malabon, security guard Hanlwel Arlate was standing in front of his house when he was stabbed by his neighbor Ron Ron Gonzales, who was under the influence of alcohol, police said.
