Farmer hacked to death in Ilocos Sur

TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — A farmer was allegedly hacked to death by his neighbor who accused him of having an affair with his wife in Barangay Paduros, Burgos, Ilocos Sur on Friday.

Freddie Arreola, 53, was attacked by Virgilio Almazan, 41, during a drinking spree at around 10 p.m., according to reports reaching the office of  Senior Inspector Leonilo Ancheta, Burgos police chief.

Arreola was brought to the Ilocos Sur District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Almazan was arrested by responding police officers.
