Jericho Nograles named Davao City legislative caretaker
MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has designated Rep. Jericho Nograles of Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta party-list as the legislative caretaker of the first district of Davao City after its incumbent congressman, Karlo, was appointed Cabinet secretary.
“In the interest of its people... Jericho Nograles is ... designated as legislative caretaker... effective immediately,” Arroyo stated in a Memorandum 17-192 issued earlier this week.
Nograles is legislative caretaker of the first district of Sulu in a concurrent capacity.
“I have always served the first district of Davao City... I’m really happy that I was chosen by Speaker Arroyo and my colleagues as the legislative caretaker of my home district,” Nograles said.
“Even with only a few months left before the election season, there’s still a lot to be done for the district and I’m fully committed to fulfill this new mandate,” Nograles added.
