2 arrested in Makati City on gun raps
MANILA, Philippines — Two men were arrested in Makati City for allegedly pointing and firing their guns on Sunday night.
Jorge Maligo Fernandez, 46, reportedly shot at a man along Chieftain street in Barangay Southside at around 7:30 p.m.
The man, who was not identified, filed a complaint with the police. Fernandez presented his license to own and possess firearms upon his arrest but could not show a permit to carry firearms outside his residence.
Lawmen seized from Fernandez a .45 caliber pistol, three magazines, 22 bullets and bullet casing.
Retired Army soldier Lazaro Crisanto Fang, 65, allegedly pointed his gun at his drunk neighbors on Dado street, also in Barangay Southside, at around 10 p.m. A .45 caliber pistol loaded with five bullets were seized from him.
Both men were charged with violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Fernandez was charged with illegal discharge of firearm while Fang was charged with grave threat.
