Misamis Oriental town has new barangay

MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has signed a law creating a new barangay in Villanueva town in Misamis Oriental.

The creation of Poblacion 2, which was approved in a plebiscite in 2006, has been recognized by the provincial board.

Under the law signed on Oct. 30, elected barangay officials of Barangay Poblacion 2 shall continue to hold office until their successors have been elected.

”All public infrastructure and facilities for public use existing... at the time of the approval of this act shall be transferred without cost or compensation to the new barangay and administered by the same,” the law states.
