Man kills, burns mother in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A man allegedly killed his mother in Sipalay, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Rolando Eseng, 42, reportedly hit Gloria, 63, with a spade and dragged her body to the toilet and burned her, according to initial investigation by the Sipalay police. 

Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, Sipalay police officer-in-charge, said barangay kagawad Joemar Papasin and watchman Manuel Namia turned over the suspect to the police.

The suspect is reportedly sufferring from a mental illness.
