20 families homeless in Quiapo fire

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty families lost their homes in a fire that reached second alarm in Quiapo, Manila Friday night.

The fire started at around 7 p.m. at the second floor of a residential structure made of galvanized iron sheets occupied by a certain Lumanda Talipada at the corner of Duque and Vergara streets.

The fire spread to adjacent houses and left 20 families homeless, according to arson investigator SFO2 Domingo Mendoza Jr.

Damages to property was estimated at P100,000. No one was reported killed or injured in the fire, which was put out an hour later.
