Sara Duterte’s Hugpong forges alliance with Lakas-CMD, Tingog party-list
TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — Hugpong ng Pagbabago, the political party of President Duterte’s daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, have forged an alliance with the Lakas-CMD and Eastern Visayas party-list Tingog Sinirangan.
Carpio led the oathtaking of alliance members at the Tacloban Astrodome on Wednesday.
She also visited the Yolanda Memorial Park and extended her sympathies to those who lost their loved ones in the super typhoon that devastated the city five years ago.
Carpio said she would support the candidacy of “friends who will push for the development agenda” of the President as well as the growth and development of the region.
While only 12 slots for senator are at stake in next year’s elections, Carpio endorsed 14 candidates, mostly of the ruling administration party.
“I ask all of you to help the senatorial candidates of Hugpong ng Pagbabago, whom I trust will carry on President Duterte’s agenda of genuine change,” Lakas-CMD president Martin Romualdez said.
