PNP’s No. 4 man recommended for promotion
MANILA, Philippines — The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has recommended to President Duterte the promotion of Director Camilo Cascolan, the Philippine National Police (PNP)’s No. 4 man, to a three-star general.
Napolcom vice chairman Rogelio Casurao said the commission endorsed a resolution dated Oct. 5 recommending Cascolan’s promotion from director to deputy director general.
PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said Cascolan meets the requirements of a three-star rank official.
Cascolan is the chief of the directorial staff.
He also headed the Civil Security Group, which handles the licensing of security agencies.
Cascolan served as chief of the National Capital Region Police Office for two months.
He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy’s Sinagtala Class of 1986 along with Albayalde and former PNP chief Ronald dela Rosa.– Cecille Suerte Felipe
