Man wanted for 99 counts of rape falls
MANILA, Philippines — Two of Makati City’s most wanted fugitives – one for 99 counts of rape – were arrested Friday night, an official said yesterday.
Construction worker Louie Añonuevo Guevarra, 46, the city police’s most wanted fugitive, and parking attendant Renato Leal Cipriano, 64, are being held at the city police station, Southern Police District (SPD) director Senior Superintendent Eliseo Cruz said.
Personnel from the city police’s warrant and subpoena section arrested Guevarra at his home on Rodil street and Cipriano on Zapote street.
Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 136 Judge Rico Sebastian ordered Guevarra’s arrest for 99 counts of rape on Sept. 3.
Branch 3-FC Judge Robert Victor Marcon issued a warrant for Cipriano’s arrest for two counts of rape on Sept. 28.
Neither of the suspects were granted bail.
