MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects, one of them a police officer, were killed in alleged shootouts with law enforcers in North Cotabato and Pangasinan on Monday.

Police Officer 2 Ernie Sabagay drew his gun when he sensed he had transacted with anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Magsaysay in Polomolok, Superintendent Aldrin Gonzalez, Soccsksargen police spokesman, said.

Gonzalez said Sabagay was out on bail on drug charges.

Ivensor Agpoon, 39, alias Soy, reportedly fired at police officers who responded to reports that an armed man was creating trouble in Barangay Poblacion, Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Police said Agpoon had four standing warrants of arrest for illegal drugs.

In Batangas, an unidentified man accused of robbing a gasoline station reportedly fired at police officers in Barangay Inosluban in Lipa City. His companion managed to escape. – Eva Visperas, Emmanuel Tupas
