Ex-Cavite vice governor faces perjury raps over SALN
MANILA, Philippines — Former Cavite vice governor Dencito Campaña has been charged with perjury before the Sandiganbayan for allegedly misdeclaring his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth in 2007.
In a three-page charge sheet recently filed by Ismaela Boco, graft investigation and prosecution officer III, Campaña was accused of violating Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code.
Court records showed that Campaña failed to declare a 1999 Toyota Revo (WKB-720), which he acquired in 2007 and was registered under his name.
“There was sufficient ground to engender a well-founded belief that the crime charged has been committed and that the accused is probably guilty thereof,” the ombudsman said.
Bail was recommended at P6,000.
