Teen slain in daily Caloocan killings

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — An 18-year-old high school student, whose only record was breaking curfew last month, was shot dead Friday night in the latest of daily shootings in Caloocan City by motorcycle-riding assailants.

Raymond Ilustrisimo was drinking with friends in front of a store in Barangay 178 when an assailant wearing a face mask arrived on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice and shot the victim in the head.

Ilustrisimo was the sixth victim of what seemed to be daily shootings in Caloocan since Monday by masked motorcycle-riding assailants.

He was declared dead on arrival at the Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital.

He had no record in the barangay for illegal drug use, according to the Barangay 178 investigator Raul Diama Sr.

Among the other victims of motorcycle-riding assailants in Caloocan were alleged police informant Clariz Ocampo, 26, on Oct. 10; Police Officer 1 Marvin German, Oct 9; Wali Bombong on Oct. 8; Armando Purcia, Oct. 10; and George dela Cruz, Oct. 11.
