LPA spotted off Cagayan
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) has been spotted off Appari, Cagayan, but is not expected to affect the country in the next few days.
As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the weather system was located at 1,080 kilometers east of Aparri, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, although he warned the public against possible flashfloods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
