Bulacan drug war: 1 killed, 11 arrested

MALOLOS, Philippines — A drug suspect was killed while 11 others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the past two days in Bulacan.

The fatality, identified as “alias Trikie,” allegedly pulled out a gun after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent in Barangay Gaya-gaya, San Jose del Monte City on Saturday night.

The suspect allegedly shot at a team of police officers out to arrest him, triggering a firefight that resulted in his death.

Investigators recovered a .38 caliber revolver, a plastic sachet said to contain shabu and marked money from the suspect, according to Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director.

Meanwhile, 11 others were arrested in separate stings in Norzagaray and Bustos towns as well as in San Jose del Monte City on Saturday and yesterday morning.

Police said they seized 36 plastic sachets said to contain shabu and dried marijuana leaves, and marked money from the anti-drug operations.
