Romina Cabrera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Illegal drugs valued at P176,000 were confiscated while at least 30 others were nabbed in separate police operations in Quezon City since Thursday.

A raid on a house along Acacia street in Barangay Bagbag led to the arrest of the Novaliches police station’s top two drug personalities – Roban Valenzuela, 42, and Philip Damian Alejo – and the seizure of P170,00 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, ecstasy tablets worth P6,000, rifle grenades and drug paraphernalia.

The raid stemmed from a search warrant issued by Judge Cecilyn Burgos-Villavert of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 89 and an arrest warrant against Valenzuela issued by Judge Ferdinand Baylon of RTC Branch 77.

At least 32 others were caught in separate operations in Barangays Old Balara, Tatalon, Loyola Heights, Bagong Silangan, Balon Bato, San Antonio, Del Monte, and Bagong Pag-asa.

In Manila, alleged user Paolo Bumanlag was gunned down by four unidentified men in Tondo Thursday night.

Bumanlag was playing video karera, an illegal arcade game, in Parola Compound when the masked assailants shot him in the head at around 11 p.m., police said.– Rey Galupo
