Drunk guard pokes gun at cop
MANILA, Philippines — A drunk security guard was arrested after he poked his gun at a policeman who was helping bring him to a hospital when he figured in a traffic accident in Marikina City Sunday.
Moreno Saycon, 23, was disarmed and arrested by Police Officer 1 Paul Evaristo and is now being held at the Marikina police’s detention facility.
A 9mm Beretta pistol and a magazine with 14 bullets were seized from Saycon.
Chief Superintendent Bernabe Balba, Eastern Police District director, ordered the filing of charges of attempted homicide and illegal possession of firearms against Saycon.
Evaristo was driving his car on his way home when he chanced upon Saycon, whose motorcycle hit an establishment along J.P. Laurel street in Vista Valley, Barangay Sto. Niño at around 9 p.m. Sunday, Balba said.
Evaristo, who was in civilian clothes, got out of his car and tried to help Saycon to his feet. Evaristo called for an ambulance and a traffic policeman to investigate the accident.
Saycon tried to leave the scene and drew his gun when Evaristo moved to stop him so he could be brought to the hospital, Balba said.
