2 girls die in Iloilo road mishap

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two girls died when a tricab they were riding rolled over and fell into a ditch in Leon, Iloilo on Sunday night.

Nenia Verayo, 6, and her cousin, Kyla Mana-ay, 7, both residents of Barangay Kasing-Kasing, Molo district in Iloilo City, were thrown off the vehicle due to the impact of the crash.

The driver of the tricab, Arnel Palec, 46; Renel also surnamed Palec, 6; Frevelyn dela Llana, 15;  Ellah Verayo, 19; Mary Jean, 45, and Rosemary, 24, both surnamed Espenetra, were injured.

Police Officer 2 Edsel Edlang, Leon traffic investigator, said the victims were on their way home from Barangay Bucari after celebrating the birthday of Verayo and Llana when the accident occurred.

Meanwhile, in Pangasinan, the bodies of Raymart Arcueno, 22, and Jaypee Bartolome, 30, both residents of Barangay Buenlag 2nd in Bayambang town, were found along the highway in Barangay Zone 7 on Sunday. 

Probers said the two men could have died in a road accident, citing the wreckage of a motorcycle and bloodstains found at the scene. – Eva Visperas
