2 dead in road mishaps

MANILA, Philippines — Two persons died and two others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Metro Manila on Thursday.

In Parañaque, Jessie de Castro, 14, and Jerald Feliciano, 13, were on a bicycle when they were hit by a truck driven by Florentino Cabalida Jr.  along Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio.

De Castro was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Parañaque. Feliciano suffered injuries.

In Muntinlupa City, a truck driven by Joebert Palaypayon, 42, crashed into a motorcycle driven by Rogie Callo, 32, along the East Service Road.

Callo died from injuries at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

Cabalida and Palaypayon were arrested by police.

In Las Piñas, Julius Bellecer was injured after he figured in a smash-up in Barangay Almanza Dos.           

Bellecer was in a Nissan Urvan (UVW-475) when it collided with a Nissan Sentra and an Isuzu pick-up. He was taken to the Asian Hospital for treatment.
