Laguna chief chief sacked for molesting teenage girl

LAGUNA, Philippines – A police chief in this province has been relieved from his post for  allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl at a police station.

Senior Inspector Earl Rodenni Jangalay of Pila town is facing administrative and criminal complaints before the Philippine National Police provincial internal affairs service and prosecutor’s office, respectively.

Senior Inspector Jean Noche Alagos replaced Jangalay.

According to the sworn statement of the victim obtained by The STAR, the incident occurred when the girl and her friend visited their volleyball coach at the police station last week.

The victim claimed Jangalay sat beside her and then borrowed her cellular phone.

She said Jangalay touched her from the waist to her legs when he returned her cell phone.

The victim was accompanied by her parents and counselors of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in filing a complaint against Jangalay before the women and children protection center.

Jangalay cannot be reached for comment.
