Makati City family of 3 arrested in drug sting
MANILA, Philippines — A woman and her two sons were arrested in a drug bust in Makati City on Sunday.
Joy Mariano Espino, 53, her son Fhaul Jay, 20, and his 17-year-old brother were apprehended at their home on Infanta street in Barangay Olympia after Joy allegedly sold a sachet of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P200 to a police officer posing as a buyer.
Marked money, four sachets of shabu and a smartphone were seized from Joy and her sons.
In Quezon City, alleged pusher Jun Azur was killed in an alleged shootout during a drug sting along Quirino Highway in Barangay Bagbag at around 2:15 a.m. yesterday.
Anti-narcotics operatives from the Novaliches police station were reportedly able to buy P10,000 worth of shabu from Azur and his unidentified companion.
Recovered at the crime scene were a .45 caliber pistol, five sachets of suspected shabu, nine fired cartridge cases, a sling bag containing P10,000 marked money and four sachets of marijuana. – Romina Cabrera
