Cop dies in motorcycle crash

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Another rookie policeman died after his motorcycle smashed street-side railing in Panit-an, this city, around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Police Officer 1 Amorlin Baruela, 33, was driving his Kawasaki Rouser to Roxas City when he figured in the accident.

According to police reports, Baruela lost control of his motorcycle.

He was brought to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Baruela was a member of the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

More than a week ago, a neophyte policeman of the Iloilo PMFC was also killed in a vehicular accident.

The victim was identified as PO1 Joe Peter Montezuma.
