117 OFWs return home from Dubai

Pia Lee-Brago - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 117 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returned home from Dubai yesterday morning.

They arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 on a Philippine Airlines flight from Dubai.

The Filipino migrant workers availed themselves of the amnesty program of the United Arab Emirates government.

The OFWs received $100 each from officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration headed by administrator Hans Cacdac.

He said most of the repatriates did not receive salaries from their employers.

Some of the OFWs were victims of illegal recruiters, Cacdac said. – Rudy Santos
