MANILA, Philippines — Several cities and towns have suspended classes for Friday, August 17 due to continued monsoon rains.

State weather bureau PAGASA said that southwest monsoon is affecting the western part of Luzon. 

Here is the list of areas that have declared class suspensions:

All levels (public and private)

  • Rizal
    • Taytay
    • Cainta
    • San Mateo
  • Metro Manila
    • Malabon City
  • Pangasinan
    • Lingayen
    • Dagupan
  • Bulacan
    • Calumpit
  • Pampanga
    • Masantol
    • Macabebe
    • Sto. Tomas
    • Sasmuan

Pre-school to highschool 

  • Pampanga
    • Apalit: Sampaga Elementary School and High School
    • Guagua: GD Mendoza High School , GNC
    • San Simon (public schools only): Dela Paz, San Agustin, San Isidro, San Juan, San Miguel, San Nicolas, San Pablo, San Pedro, at Sta. Cruz
    • San Luis: San Juan, San Nicolas, Sta. Monica, Sta. Cruz Poblacion, Sto. Tomas, Sto. Rosario, Sta. Cruz Pambilog

Pre-school to elementary
