MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized P37.3 million worth of drugs in five parcels at bonded warehouses near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The BOC said a total of 5.239 kilos of shabu were found in four parcels. One declared to contain a baby carrier contained 680 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

Another parcel declared to contain a camera yielded 500 grams of shabu while a parcel supposedly containing a bar stool was found to carry four kilos of shabu.

All three parcels came from the United States.

The fourth parcel, declared to hold a finance magazine, contained 3.64 grams of shabu. It was sent from the Philippines and bound for New Zealand.

The fifth parcel, declared to contain wooden toys, held 1,003 ecstasy tablets.

The illegal drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday.
