8 Cavite jail escapees recaptured
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Eight more inmates who escaped from a police custodial center in Bacoor, Cavite on Friday were recaptured yesterday.
Superintendent Vicente Cabatingan, Bacoor police chief, said the escapees were nabbed in Bacoor and Kawit. Three other escapees had been earlier recaptured in Bacoor.
“Most of the escapees have pending drug cases,“ Cabatingan said.
He said a total of 23 inmates rushed out when the gate was opened when one of the inmates was brought back to his cell after his mug shot was taken.
Cabatingan appealed to the public to report information on the remaining fugitives to the nearest police station or call mobile phone number 0949 1167771.
He said the relatives of the escapees gave assurance that they would cooperate to ensure the arrest of the fugitives.
