2 slain in Biliran, Batangas drug busts
MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected drug dealers were killed in Biliran and Batangas on Wednesday as the government continued its war on drugs.
Rogelio Caparro, 34, was gunned down after he shot anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Antipolo, Almeria, Biliran.
In Batangas, Chester Manalo allegedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Poblacion 4, Bauan at around 10:45 p.m.
Manalo, who was on the drug watchlist, was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.
Doni Francis Chua, 21, Sangguniang Kabataan chairman in Barangay Guadalupe, Baybay, Leyte and Efren Balubal, 43, former barangay kagawad in Centro Northwest, Solana, Cagayan were arrested in drug stings in their respective areas also on Wednesday.
Israel Mamalangka was arrested in Barangay Rosary Heights in Cotabato City. He yielded shabu with an estimated street value of P1.7 million and a motorcycle, police said.
In Cavite, Hasmaira Jiamal, 24; Paulo Gonzales, 24; Jamir Lucas, 30; Glorie Ann Baron, 19, and Fredmar dela Rosa, 27, were arrested in Barangay Molino 4, Bacoor.
Police said 52 grams of shabu valued at P350,000 were recovered from the suspects.
