Jeepney operators get fuel vouchers
MANILA, Philippines — The government started the distribution of fuel vouchers for jeepney operators on Monday.
The initial batch of recipients of the fuel subsidy program can get their vouchers of P5,000 each at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) main office in Quezon City.
Around 10,000 beneficiaries in Metro Manila can get their vouchers. The distribution at the LTO head office started yesterday and will last until today.
On Monday, about 500 recipients received their voucher cards at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), also in Quezon City .
The government said around 179,000 operators of public utility jeepneys (PUJs) across the country will benefit from the program meant to cushion the impact of rising prices of fuel products.
LTFRB chief Martin Delgra III earlier said the subsidy would be given in installments of P800 per month within six months.
Beneficiaries must bring an original and photocopy of a valid identification card and an ID picture in claiming their vouchers.
