Fire hits public market in Quezon City
MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at the Mega Q-Mart public market in Barangay E. Rodriguez, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
City fire marshal Senior Superintendent Manuel Manuel said in a text message P500,000 worth of property were destroyed in the fire that arson investigators initially attributed to an electrical short circuit.
The blaze started at around 4:38 a.m. and reached fourth alarm. Manuel said the fire originated at the Vape Store, located in the dry goods section of the market.
Firefighters were able to put the fire under control at around 5:37 a.m. and doused by around 6:03 a.m.
