2 drug suspects killed in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines — Two men believed to be involved in the illegal drug trade were killed in Caloocan City on Sunday night.

Jefren Enriquez, 40, was sleeping when a masked assailant broke into his house and fired at him.

Senior Inspector Felipe Fermin Jr., Caloocan police chief investigator, said Enriquez was in the barangay’s drug watchlist.

Another drug suspect was found dead along 5th Avenue in Caloocan.

The man, described to be between 35 and 40 years old, died from gunshots to the head.

Police said they recovered plastic sachets of shabu and marijuana at the scene.

In Quezon City, 15 drug suspects were arrested by police in separate stings since Sunday.

The suspects were apprehended in Barangays Tandang Sora, Sto. Domingo, Bagong Silangan, San Martin de Porres and Bahay Toro. – Romina Cabrera
