5 drug suspects killed in Rizal and Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — Five suspected drug pushers were killed in stings in Rizal and Batangas in the past two days.

Jelo Parane and his unidentified companion drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Sitio Hinapao, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday, police said.

Also in Antipolo, Alex Relano, 15,  and a man who has yet to be identified reportedly shot it out with police officers who tried to arrest them in Barangay Dela Paz at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.  Their companion was wounded and remains confined in a hospital.

In Batangas, Rolando Ternida was shot dead when he fired at anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Poblacion 1, Calatagan also on Monday.
