Boy, 7, drowns

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan, Philippines — A seven-year-old boy was found floating in a river here on Saturday morning.

Rengie Aquino was recovered from the Ano River in Barangay Talospatang by members of a local search and rescue team. He was declared dead on arrival at the Malasiqui Municipal Hospital.

Reports said that Aquino was discovered missing when his father Raymundo arrived home on Friday afternoon.

Raymundo noticed that Rengie was not around, prompting him to ask his other son, Russel, who told him that his brother was playing in school.

Raymundo sought the help of barangay officials when he failed to find Rengie in school.
