P47.6 million shabu seized in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Policemen seized P47.6 million worth of shabu in a sting in Manila yesterday.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde yesterday led top police officials in the presentation of approximately seven kilos of shabu lawmen confiscated in a drug bust in Barangay 779, Zone 57 in San Andres Bukid at around 4 a.m.
Lawmen also arrested Joshir Bernardo, 29, who reportedly sold one kilo of shabu for P6.8 million to a policeman posing as a drug buyer.
Albayalde said a Nissan Cefiro Bernardo used was also confiscated.
Bernardo allegedly worked under Loloy Hernandez, a suspected drug lord currently detained in the Taguig City Jail.
Albayalde said it is possible Hernandez is still able to direct his operations through the use of a cell phone smuggled into the jail.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, director of the National Capital Region Police Office, said Hernandez’s group allegedly supplies drugs in Metro Manila and the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) region. – With Non Alquitran, Rey Galupo
