Dodong Catiz, a resident of Barangay Kalaisan, Kidapawan, resisted arrest and shot agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Superintendent Aldrin Gonzalez, Soccskargen police spokesman, said.

Gonzalez said Catiz was a member of a drug ring operating in Davao del Norte and nearby provinces.

Student Genesis Tumumba, 19, and his two companions were being pursued by anti-narcotics agents  following a drug sting when they reportedly fired at police officers manning a checkpoint in Barangay Oscariz, Ramon, Isabela.

Police Officer 2 Carlo Magno Rais was wounded in the firefight.
