5 nabbed for P1.2 million marijuana
MANILA, Philippines — Five suspected drug dealers were arrested and P1.2 million worth of marijuana leaves were seized in two sting operations in Quezon City on Friday.
Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, director of the National Capital Region Police Office, said the suspects belong to the same group distributing marijuana in Metro Manila.
Two of the suspects are Edcen Lim, 23, and Allen Devillas, 20, who were arrested in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion at around 11:30 p.m.
Another police team conducted another sting in Barangay Culiat at around 11:45 p.m., which resulted in the arrest of Mark Philip Jualan, 27; Juan Soriano, 27; and Eli Bringas, 24.
Eleazar said 12 kilos of marijuana leaves were confiscated from the suspects.
Superintendent Ariel Capocao, Quezon City Police District Station 10 commander, said the suspects, who claimed they do not know the identity of their supplier, likely obtained the drugs from a source in Northern Luzon.
“We will interrogate them to get more information,” he said in an interview with reporters.
