Police chief killed in anti-drug operation in Isabela town

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Senior Inspector Michael Angelo Tubania, police chief of Mallig town in Isabela, was killed in a shootout with drug personalities an hour before midnight Sunday.

According to Senior Inspector Saturnino Aggabao, deputy chief, Tubania did not reach the hospital alive after he was shot during a sting operation.

The drug suspect shot Tubania in the side with a .45-cal pistol.

Police have yet to release more details into the shootout. — Artemio Dumlao
