Guard stabs colleague over absences

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A security guard at a courier service company in Pandacan, Manila was killed by his colleague Tuesday following a heated argument over the suspect’s absences from duty, police said yesterday.

Case investigator Police Officer 1 Danilo Kabigting said victim Jetson Cabarles apparently was the first to attack the suspect, suspect Jhonny Killa, slashing the latter’s cheek with a sharp piece of metal. This prompted Killa to run up the second floor, grab a kitchen knife and chase Cabarles all the way to a nearby condominium building and stab his colleague dead.

Killa was apprehended by maintenance personnel and turned over to the Pandacan police station, where he is being held as he faces a homicide charge.
