MANILA, Philippines — At least five men were killed in a span of 24 hours in Quezon City on Saturday.

Jayson Umali and two others identified only as Nhing and Bonjo were slain in a drug bust that led to an alleged shootout along Hazer street in Barangay Pansol at around 9:30 p.m.

Anti-narcotics police were supposedly able to buy P15,000 worth of shabu from the suspects prior to the shootout.

The three men died at the scene during the ensuing gunfight.

Recovered at the crime scene were three .38 caliber revolvers, seven sachets said to contain shabu, five sachets of suspected marijuana and seven fired cartridge cases.

Still unidentified assailants gunned down two men in Barangay Baesa on Saturday.

The body of Gary Sison, 35, was found by a passerby floating face down in a creek along Mendez street at around 5:45 a.m.

Sison had been shot repeatedly and two bullets and a slug were recovered from his pockets.

Antonio Grimado, 34, was gunned down while he was seated on his tricycle at the Jordan Valley terminal at around 9 p.m.

Witnesses said two men shot at Grimado, who was declared dead on arrival at the Quezon City General Hospital.
