MANILA, Philippines — Three persons, including a minor, were arrested during a raid on an indoor marijuana farm in Marikina City Thursday.

The marijuana plants were grown in an air-conditioned room under artificial lights and could fetch P4 million when harvested, said Chief Superintendent Reynaldo Biay, Eastern Police District (EPD) director.

Miguel Joseph Arias and Danica Jocye were presented during yesterday’s press conference led by National Capital Region Police Office director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar and Biay at the Quezon City Police District headquarters.

Police organized a sting that led to the raid on a house along Champagne street in Barangay Concepcion Dos.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said the team led by Marikina police chief Senior Superintendent Roger Quezada confiscated 800 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 36 pots of grown marijuana plants, a plastic sealer, two bongs, three jars containing dried marijuana leaves, a digital weighing scale and two P500 bills used as marked money.

The suspects were brought to the EPD crime laboratory for drug testing and the recovered evidence for laboratory examination.

The minor was turned over to the local social welfare office.

The arrested suspects were charged with drug pushing and possession of illegal drugs before the Marikina City prosecutor’s office.
