Van hits carabao on SCTEX pastor dead

OLONGAPO CITY, Philippines  —  A pastor died when a carabao suddenly crossed along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) last week.

Lucio Miranda, 68, of the I-Care Fellowship Center, was  pronounced dead on arrival at the Romana Pangan District Hospital.

A police report showed the accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on May 29. It did not mention how the carabao managed to enter the expressway.

Following the incident, Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino warned motorists that it is no longer safe to drive on SCTEX.

“Why was there a carabao on the expressway?” he asked.
