2 truck drivers nabbed for hit-and-run

MANILA, Philippines — Two truck drivers were arrested after they figured in a hit-and-run accident that killed a security guard in Pandacan, Manila yesterday morning.

Ramel Magalona, 25, and Jaypee Colin, 30, were collared by police following a brief chase.

Probers said Rolando Ginete was on a bicycle along Guazon Avenue when he was hit by a truck driven by Magalona at around 6:20 a.m.

Due to the impact, Ginete fell off the bicycle and was crushed by anothet truck driven by Colin.

Ginete died at the scene.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
