Pagadian fire razes houses, school
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Around 50 houses and a school building were destroyed in a fire in Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur on Thursday.
The fire, which was reportedly caused by an unattended stove, started from the house of a certain Pacita Navies at around 5:57 p.m. It was declared out at about 7:15 p.m.
Around 200 residents lost their homes in the fire. Damage was initially placed at P1.2 million.
Another fire which broke at a sports complex in Dipolog City before noon also on Thursday destroyed the stock room of a government office and three nearby houses.
