Tarlac LTO chief nabbed for drugs, ammo
ANGELES CITY, Philippines — The chief of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Tarlac City was arrested yesterday for possession of illegal drugs and ammunition.
Rogelio Yambao, 59, yielded nine sachets of shabu, a fragmentation grenade and bullets for a caliber .45 pistol during a raid on his house in Barangay San Roque, police said.
Superintendent Luis Ventura Jr., Tarlac police intelligence chief, said Yambao is on the province’s list of “high-value” drug targets.
Ventura said Yambao is known to be involved in the illegal drug trade even when he was still with the LTO office in Paniqui town.
“We just have to do our work, regardless of who gets along the way. We will target all those on our list of high-value targets,” he said.
