NPA condemns radioman’s slay
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The New People’s Army (NPA) has condemned the murder of radioman Edmund Sestoso, who was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental last month.
JB Regalado, spokesman for the NPA’s Leonardo Panaligan Command urged the provincial police to conduct a deeper probe of the incident.
Regalado said the murder of Sestoso and the assault on former Negros Press Club president Ranie Asue were allegedly part of media repression by the government.
Sestoso, anchorman of DYGB-FM, died from several gunshot wounds.
A P400,000 bounty has been offered for any information leading to the arrest of the killers.
The provincial police formed a task group to investigate the murder.
