Family of 6 nabbed for drugs
MANILA, Philippines — Six members of a family, including a 16-year-old boy, were apprehended during a drug sting in Quezon City on Tuesday night.
Siblings Renie Joy Guinto, 28; Renie May Guinto, 20; Benedict Guinto, 19; Rebecca Odtuhan, 39; Albert Santos, 20, and the minor were nabbed at their house along Betsaiida Alley in Barangay San Martin de Porres in Cubao at around 9:30 p.m.
Police said they recovered 11 sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and the marked money from the suspects.
The suspects had turned themselves in to authorities under Oplan Tokhang. They were included in the drug watchlist.
Sixteen other drug suspects were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in the city in the past two days.
They were collared in Barangays E. Rodriguez, Sta. Monica, Gulod, San Francisco del Monte, Central and Pinyahan.
The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
