Reds kill Army corporal

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — An Army corporal was killed and another soldier was wounded in an encounter with suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Sitio Matatang, Barangay Masi, Rizal, Cagayan on Tuesday.

Macdonald Domingo was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital in this city where Pfc. Feliciano Tattao was also taken for treatment.

Police said soldiers belonging to the 17th Infantry Battalion led by First Lt. Ryan Bartolome clashed with around 25 NPA rebels at around 7:45 a.m.

In Masbate, habal-habal driver Donald delos Santos, 25, was gunned down by suspected NPA rebels in Barangay Chimenea, Cataingan town about  5 a.m. yesterday. – With Celso Amo
