Village councilman slain in gun attack

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — A village councilman died in a gun attack by motorcycle-riding assailants in Pidigan, Abra on Sunday. 

Victor Pisco of Barangay Immuli was pronounced dead on arrival at the Abra Provincial Hospital. His wife and barangay captain, Elida, and sister Myrna Pisco-Vasquez were seriously wounded and taken to the same hospital for treatment.

Initial reports showed the victims were in an Elf truck when the assailants overtook their vehicle and opened fire.
