P.2-M marijuana seized, 18 drug suspects fall

MANILA, Philippines — Police confiscated around two kilos of marijuana while at least 18 drug suspects were arrested in separate operations in Metro Manila in the past two days.

In Quezon City, Rahjee Rodriguez, 18, and Llana Joy Dungo, 23, were nabbed for alleged possession of P20,000 worth of marijuana along Rose street in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

In Barangay Holy Spirit, four drug suspects were arrested in a sting. They were Melchor Escamillas, 38; Jorge Colegio, 36; Joseph Lumaad, 40, and Francis Carlo Irinco, 33.

Batasan police collared John Norvin Palacio and Johnny Boy Vertudazo for alleged shabu possession along Sierra Madre street in Barangay Payatas.

Three alleged drug surrenderees, Angelo Abarquez, 51; Evan Mateo, 55, and Nonon Condino, 33, were apprehended after they were allegedly caught in a pot session in Barangay San Roque. 

Authorities nabbed Victoriano Lo-on, 25; Larry Loo, 22, and a 17-year-old boy in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Baesa.

In eastern Metro Manila, three persons were arrested during separate drug stings.

In Marikina City, Norida Samporna was collared by anti-narcotics operatives along Singkamas street in Barangay Tumana.

Police said they confiscated from Samporna 33 sachets of shabu and P1,000 in marked money.

Samporna was on the drug watchlist of Barangay Tumana, according to Senior Superintendent Roger Quesada, Marikina police chief.

In Pasig City, Marco San Agustin was nabbed for creating trouble at a market along Barangay San Nicolas.

When frisked, San Agustin allegedly yielded a plastic of shabu.

Prior to this, police said they nabbed Allan Buenaventura in a sting along Kalinangan street in Barangay Caniogan.

Probers said they recovered from Buenaventura six sachets of shabu, drug paraphernalia and P200 in marked money.

In Parañaque, Roy Olarte, 35, was arrested for allegedly pushing drugs.

Police said they seized 22 sachets of shabu from Olarte.

Olarte was on the drug watchlist, probers said.  - With Non Alquitran, Ghio Ong
