MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives seized around P60 million worth of shabu from four persons, including an alleged Chinese drug lord, in separate stings in the cities of Muntinlupa and Makati yesterday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) National Capital Region office and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcemeng Group arrested Norodian Guimadel Samplidan, 28; Lady Jane Flores Borja, 24,  and Regina Inocencia San Miguel, 40, beside the St. Jerome Emiliani Church at the parking area of the Alabang Town Center mall at around noon.

Operatives seized two gym bags containing five packs of shabu weighing 10 kilos, with a street value of P50 million; P50 million in fake money used for the sting and the suspects’ belongings.

Eight kilos of shabu were found in a blue Suzuki Alto and the other two in a silver Toyota Vios, PDEA director general Aaron Aquino said. He did not mention the cars’ license plate numbers.

Meanwhile, the same PDEA and PNP units arrested a Chinese man identified only by his surname, Lim, in another sting along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City yesterday and seized two kilos of shabu from him.

Lim allegedly continued the illegal drug business of another Chinese drug lord, Yang An Kwan alias Lee Hong Ten, who was arrested twice but posted bail and is now hiding in China, Aquino said.

Lim’s group, with Samplidan, Borja and San Miguel as members, had been delivering drugs with almost the same weight to clients in Metro Manila around 10 times in the past year, Aquino said.

The source of the drugs remains unknown as there are no longer shabu laboratories that manufacture shabu in the country, according to PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa.
